Nixie Jacket

The Nixie Jacket is one of the most personal pieces Annie has ever made. Inspired by the Prussian folklore of her grandfather's homeland, this jacket is a labour of love and a deeply felt act of remembrance. 

Nixie is a name deeply rooted in Prussian and Germanic folklore, a water spirit, mysterious and enchanting, tied to the natural world and the stories passed down through generations.

Using over 40 individual thread colours, the embroidery creates a breathtaking kaleidoscope effect drawn directly from authentic Prussian and Slavic folk tradition. Every flower, every vine, every leaf carrying its own distinct hue. The structured, mirrored layout of the floral motifs references the sacred "Life Tree" and "Star" patterns of Eastern European thread work, designs historically believed to protect the wearer.

Dramatic, high-structured shoulders frame the silhouette, balanced by a double-layered back construction that cinches the waist to perfection.
