Annie has designed a new collection of mini Egyptian dresses. Each dress is entirely one of a kind and handcrafted from original 1920s Egyptian silver-inlaid mesh fabric - an opulent textile steeped in history.
Drawing inspiration from the grandeur of Ancient Egypt and Art Deco design, this shimmering mini dress features intricate geometric patterns that catch the light with every movement. The fabric, over 100 years old, originates from Cairo Egypt and is made by a very complex technique of hammering in silver to a handmade net base.
The dress reveals a dramatic open back, balanced by a single slender strap that traces the waist. The metallic diamond-patterned mesh drapes over the hips, creating a sculpted, light-catching finish with a sleek side slit.
